Pesto alla siciliana FLORELLI with tomato, ricotta and walnuts, 190 g jar. Sicilian pesto is not a reddened Genovese pesto: it is built on tomato and ricotta where the Genovese relies on basil and Parmesan, which gives it a creamy texture and an acidity the latter does not have. It is therefore used differently — on short pasta, in a bake, on a bruschetta — and it is not a substitute product. Note two allergens stated plainly: walnuts and milk.
